Musician, composer, arranger, educator, writer and actress; during her long career, Sharman Nittoli has always been a creator. In her childhood, Sharman directed her 4 brothers and sisters in selections from West Side Story . "I was obsessed with the music - the playing on piano was very challenging at the time but I practiced constantly."
Having worked intermittently as music and TV production teacher for many years in different school systems. she also performed as pianist/vocalist/arranger in different genres from solo artist to big bands, including rock, jazz, folk and classical. She enjoyed a 10 year stint as keyboard player and arranger for the well known 60s group, the Duprees, producing A Duprees Christmas CD and performing at many major nostalgia concerts in the Tri-state area.
Merging her love of teaching history through music, Sharman served two Artist in Residence positions at the Lowe House in Tubac, Arizona, where she wrote and produced historical musicals for the Montessori elementary students and performed them in the old 1885 school house at the historical Presidio.
After retiring, she was determined to complete some of her personal dreams and learned the secret to making schedules that really work. "It changed my life. I can honestly say I'm closer to being the best version of myself."
She recorded two CDs - Unconditionally, a solo CD produced by her husband, and Double Standards, collection of duets also with her husband. Her latest solo project, Live Your Bloom, is an introspective and personal collection of stories and original songs about her life's journey which she performs in a one-woman show. She is currently in the process of recording the CD Jazz in Bloom.
Together, she and her husband also co-produced the feature film Does the Band Eat, a comic and reflective look at Alfredo's experiences in the changing music business during the last 60 years. Sharman co-directed and served as music supervisor and editor, as well as enjoying a small character role. It can be seen on Amazon Prime.
Her goal is to help people plant and revive their dream seeds and BLOOM, by developing lifestyles that allow them to experience the fulfillment and joy that she has found in the latter part of her life.
